Meet Ramses & Lyrica Starling, Owners
The heart of .: Starling Sanctuary :. began with two people who met in the most unexpected way—through trivia. Ramses, originally from Switzerland, is a natural polyglot who speaks four languages fluently, including English (though he’ll never admit how good he actually is). A trivia buff through and through, he first crossed paths with Lyrica during a game on another platform. One conversation led to another, and before long, Lyrica invited him into her Second Life world.
Ramses is not often in SL, appearing mostly on weekend evenings after 9:30pm SLT. When he does log in, it’s with one purpose: to spend time with Lyrica—fishing, exploring, and relaxing with their close friends and chosen family. His quiet presence, unwavering support, and warm loyalty are part of the foundation that makes Starling Sanctuary feel like home.
Lyrica, on the other hand, is the creative force who keeps everything running day to day. She loves building landscapes, designing rentals, creating graphics, doing photography (in both SL and RL), shaping websites, and bringing beautiful ideas to life. Fishing has become a newfound passion for both her and Ramses, inspiring the growth of the Fisherman’s Dock, a space dedicated to casting lines, catching together, and making memories.
Behind the scenes, Lyrica manages operations alongside Mud—someone who is far more than a helper. Mud is family to both Ramses and Lyrica, a constant presence whose support and kindness help keep the Sanctuary thriving.
Meet Mud, Co-Owner/General Manager
After returning to SL following a ten-year break, Mud found his way back into the world and happened to meet Lyrica while she was DJing. Their friendship has grown ever since, and he remains deeply grateful for the Starlings and the sense of belonging they’ve given him. Mud is proud to be part of Starling Sanctuary and appreciates the peaceful tranquility the land brings. He enjoys fishing, racing, and helping others along their SL journey.
In real life, Mud volunteers with an organization that supports individuals struggling with their mental health. He plays the guitar, mandolin, and bass, and as the oldest of four siblings, he values family above all else.
